All I could think was........... My mum can swim... she can swim... she can swim and still keep hold of me! Where is she? She is screaming for help - is anyone listening? I am going up and down in water and I am screaming and in a busy pool as it was this weekend, nobody heard us! We both screamed some more... Within seconds my Suhas bava and Susanth bava came to help me. They got me and kept me afloat while my mum could now swim with both hands!
Couple of minutes ago...
We almost finished that day's swimming and were ready to leave. Suhas Bava, Susanth Bava, Mum and I were in the swimming pool just under an hour already and had so much fun! We played with the spider man toy, we splashed in the baby pool, I moved my hands and legs as my mum held on to my waist - lots of cool fun on a very hot day. We just wanted to go back into the pool one more time. I agreed to even put my arm bands this time and off we went. Mum and I were jumping around and followed bava. Suddenly, my mum lost control of her footing - the pool was hardly 5 feet at this point but she couldn't keep her head above water level while touching the floor any more. She thought she could swim with me in one hand, but lost control and we both were pulled down! My arm bands probably saved both of us. As this was a pool in a hotel, there were no life guards and with all the splashing everyone else probably thought we were playing.... we both were very very very scared. Thank goodness bava was here to rescue us!

As my mum's friend said - something like this only happens once in a lifetime - it is a lesson that you never forget and she is so true!
I will ensure I will stick to the small pool until I can swim by myself. I will wear my arm bands. My mum will make sure she learns more swimming skills to be confident when I need her.
Stay safe all!
